Title: Graduate – Nova Scotia Community College Truro Campus (2019)

Description: During my time at NSCC Truro Campus and taking Information Technology Systems Management and Security, we covered many topics. These topics included: computer hardware theory, managing hypervisors through vCenter, management of Linux and Windows Servers, network traffic inspection, penetration-testing methodologies using Kali Linux, basic programming with Python, and other scripting languages such as Powershell, for automation purposes. This provided profound feedback for me as someone who has always been interested in computers and IT.

Title: Gitten’s Lodge NSCC Truro Annual IT LAN Party (2019)

Project URL: https://lanparty.nscctruro.ca

Description: In collaboration with IT faculty and IT students, I helped with managing back-end systems and planning of the LAN Party infrastructure. With help from an instructor, I had a Hewlett Packard Layer-2 Gigabit switch, along with a dedicated Dell Poweredge server at my disposal for hosting all systems via the offline system. The designed website was paired with registration forms, game planning forms, and hardware donation forms for a centralized content distribution at an easily accessible URL. The LAN Party was a completely offline event with the exception of mobile hotspot availability.

A LAN party is a gathering of people with computers or compatible game consoles, where a local area network (LAN) connection is established between the devices using a router or switch, primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer video games together.
